Uncovered is a month-long journalism initiative that includes five days of curriculum focusing on the art of journalism, how to uncover a newsworthy topic, and how to write an interesting article. The initiative culminates in a nationwide journalism publication with articles written by students.
The semi-structured curriculum below is ready to be customized by teachers. We have provided a five-day curriculum with an additional two more days that are optional. The remainder of the month is open for lessons to be created by teachers, and most importantly, the writing and revision of articles for submission.
Adjusting to meet your students' needs is strongly encouraged.
Please note: Slides are in google format, but can be downloaded in .ppt. All slides for days 1-7 and the optional lessons are included here. All materials or handouts referenced are linked to in the powerpoint slides or teacher notes within the slides.
Please use this document format for submitting student articles.
