Writing My Wrongs

By Shaka Senghor

Review by Dylan T.

This book is about a guy named Shaka Senghor who grew up in the rough streets of Detroit. He started selling drugs and had a kid at a young age. He went to prison at the age of 19. He went to different prisons in the state of Michigan. After he was released from prison, he goes back to Detroit. I enjoyed reading this book because it wasn't like any book I've read before. My favorite part of the book is when everybody thought he wouldn't get released from prison and then he was. I related to the story because I have been arrested before so I understand what he is feeling. I would recommend this book to other people because it will make you have a different view on life. My favorite quote from the book is, "In life, it's not how you start that matters. It's how you finish."
