1. What is this book about? (who are the characters? When and where does it take place?)
Jacob wants to be a veterinarian but the Great Depression hits so he joins the circus where he is great at working with the animals. He falls in love with the bosse’s wife.

2. Did you enjoy reading the book? If so, what did you like about it.  If not, what didn’t you like about it? Yes, I liked the story. It was a compelling to read a different era.

3. What was your favorite part or your favorite character?  Why did you like that part or character?  My favorite character was Jacob because I can understand his struggles.

4. Did you relate to the story or any character?  How did you relate?
I related to Jacob wanting to not being called a bum.

5. Would you recommend this book to someone else?  Why would you tell them they should or should not read it? Yes, it’s a 10. Anybody would like it.

6. What message do you think the author was trying to tell readers like you?
 It showed that flawed characters can work hard and do OK.
